T E S T I M O N I A L S

“As a therapist, everything I learned here was relevant.  Already the course is helping me to understand my own reactions and the reactions of others."

Bonnie Fitz-Gibbon Psychotherapist/private practice

"An effective 'professional development' strategy for me has been to work on my 'emotional intelligence.' For colleagues with a similar interest, I am pleased to recommend the One-Year Program at the Boston Graduate School of Psychoanalysis. The program has provided me with a range of didactic and experiential learning opportunities to better understand myself and to improve my skills in the 'foreign' language of the emotions, all to the benefit of my personal and professional engagements."

William Tocco, School Teacher

“I liked the challenge of process learning, as well as the course material. This program helped me to understand the pathologies of my students in crisis.”

Rae Nelson teacher at residential treatment center

“There was no talking down to us as “non-matriculated students”- ever.  This was wonderful and challenging.”

Evan Margetson, LICSW

ONE-YEAR PROGRAM

Program Description
The One-Year Program is designed to enrich the work of those interested in understanding and working with individuals, families or groups, improving personal relationships, and enhancing their quality of life. Students are introduced to modern psychoanalytic theories and techniques in order to develop a deeper understanding of human dynamics. This introduction is enhanced through experiential learning, using real life examples and cases as a lively way to enrich the classroom experience.

Classes focus on case material and emphasize the application of a psycho-dynamically informed approach. Both experiential process and more traditional teaching methods are used to promote learning. Students progress through the program as a group.

Two consecutive classes are offered on one evening, on an every other week basis, each semester. The four classes cover the maturational process, transference and resistance, analytic listening, and countertransference. A certificate of completion is awarded at the conclusion of the program. Students may enter the program in the fall. Tuition is $1000 per semester.
