Five lucky winners will receive a guided group tour of the Isabella Stewart Gardner Museum from museum volunteer, Amy Cohen-Rose. As noted on its website, "the Isabella Stewart Gardner Museum is at once an intimate collection of fine and decorative art and a vibrant, innovative venue for contemporary artists, musicians and scholars. Housed in a stunning 15th-century Venetian-style palace with three stories of galleries surrounding a sun- and flower-filled courtyard, the museum provides an unusual backdrop for the viewing of art. The Isabella Stewart Gardner Museum's preeminent collection contains more than 2,500 paintings, sculptures, tapestries, furniture, manuscripts, rare books and decorative arts. The galleries house works by some of the most recognized artists in the world, including Titian, Rembrandt, Michelangelo, Raphael, Botticelli, Manet, Degas, Whistler and Sargent. The spirit of the architecture, the personal character of the arrangements and the artistic display of the enchanting courtyard in full bloom all create an atmosphere that distinguishes the Isabella Stewart Gardner Museum as an intimate and culturally-rich treasure." Cape Cod Guided Walking Fishing Excursion

You and your guest will take a guided walking fishing excursion at the Brewster flats on Cape Cod – most likely the most beautiful place you have ever fished in your life. Leaving just before first light, your tour will take anywhere from 3-5 hours. The Brewster flats are often "sight fished," when the fish are actually seen on the surface or in the water before the cast is made. When the tides go out, massive sand bars are exposed that stretch out into Cape Cod bay for a mile or so, and this concentrates the fish into shallow areas. The flats can be fly fished or conventionally fished. All gear will be provided, except for sunglasses, which are a must. Be prepared to walk to reach the prime fishing area; bring your wading shoes, old sneakers, or just your bare feet and plan to walk right in to ankle to waist high water, depending on where the fish are.

Your guides will be Jon Kelley, who has fished these flats for almost 30 years and knows them as well as anyone in the world, and/or Max Cavallaro, who cautions, "If you hook into a fish the size of your arm or leg in knee deep water, trust me, your head will explode with excitement, but be warned...once you get your first fish on the flats, the guides are not responsible for any fishing addictions or compulsions that may follow, though we can refer you to some very qualified professionals/tackle shops."

This item is available Summer 2014.

Tom Feelings Drawings

tom feelings

These three, handsomely framed drawings by 1960's African-American artist/illustrator Tom Feelings reflect the artist's acclaim for, in his own words, "portraying the contemporary Negro scene in its true identity," in order to correct the distortions characteristic of African-American depictions of the time. These pieces were most likely drawn during Feelings' freelance period from 1959 to 1964, when Feelings drew subjects from the African American people of his Brooklyn community. According to Penguin Books, "Collectors such as Maya Angelou, Roberta Flack and Cicely Tyson have paintings by Mr. Feelings in their private collections." Our volunteer art expert reports that these drawings are valued at close to $350 each. Don't miss this rare opportunity to take home a piece of 1960's African-American history.

Multicolored pieces of Fiesta-Ware adorn this 10" by 10" hand crafted mirror. The curved raised white stripes on the pieces, from the "hee;" (underside) of the Fiesta-Ware plate, give the mirror a playful character. The dark grey grouting sets off the colors of the Fiesta-Ware pieces and makes them "pop". 1981 Chateau Meyney, Saint-Estephe, France

wine

Chateau Meyney in St. Estephe has a long history of wine-making, starting in the 17th century, when the monks planted the first vines. In 1917, the Bordeaux wine property was purchased by the well-established Cordier family.
In 2004, Chateau Meyney was purchased by CA Grands Crus, which owns several other Bordeaux wine properties, including Château Grand Puy Ducasse in Pauillac, Rayne Vigneau in Sauternes, and other assorted Cru Bourgeois chateaux.

The vineyard of Chateau Meyney has vines that average between 35 and 40 years old. The vines are planted in a single plot, which is unusual for such a large vineyard (51 hectares). Situated close to Chateau Montrose and not far from Chateau Phelan Segur, the gravel and sand based topsoil of Chateau Meyney resides atop a large streak of blue clay close to three meters thick.

Vintage 1982 is known to sell between $100-$200/bottle. 1981 is a much rarer year, with hardly any bottles available in the world.
