Personal Statement
From my earliest memories of being a member of Governor Earl Warren's Task Force on Juvenile Delinquency, I have always been fascinated by people, their drives, motives and emotions. I am interested in them both as individuals and members of groups, families, and communities. This interest has led me to study people psychoanalytically as individuals in therapeutic group settings. My work as a psychoanalyst has been greatly enhanced by my avocational life experiences as an entertainer, a member of a professional Jazz group, and a working artist in New York City. These experiences led me to my interest in understanding issues in and around creativity and working psychoanalytically with a wide range of creative people.
